The Tru by Hilton Ogden offers a convenient location and decent amenities, particularly a good breakfast and friendly staff. However, the rooms are consistently cited as small and noisy, with issues related to road noise and interior disturbances. Several reviewers experienced problems with billing and cleanliness.
There’s really nice staff and the breakfast is decent. But…..the rooms are tiny (like laughably small), there’s a ton of noise you hear from inside the hotel, and you hear everything from the extremely busy street just outside the building. Will definitely be trying to stay somewhere else next time.
A great room and great service are meaningless if you get NO SLEEP AT ALL. The hotel simply could not have be been any closer to a street that had all night traffic. I would have given 1 star but the staff were very pleasant. Far too many other options around. Avoid at all cost IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO SLEEP AT YOUR HOTEL.
I decided to try this hotel for an extended work trip. I loved the breakfast but disliked no coffee pot in room and no where to store your clothing. I had trouble trying to get an extension on my stay so had to do a separate booking at the front of my trip. I had to “checkout” and “check back in” and had to switch rooms 3 times until I got a working TV. And finally- the 2nd to last day of my 8 days, I returned to my room to find it propped open with a wash cloth- thought I would run into housekeeping, but I didn’t. Who knows how long my rooms was open and no one caught it. Management tried to help the situation with points but I never heard anything else about it. The front desk crew every morning and evening were fabulous - but because of all of the above- back to Marriott I go.
I recently stayed on a business trip at Tru by Hilton Ogden and had a fantastic experience. The room was clean and comfortable, though I’ll note it was on the smaller side — still perfectly fine for a solo traveler and well-designed. The gym is really impressive and the indoor pool was a great way to unwind after a busy day. Breakfast each morning was terrific — a really strong buffet with plenty of variety that set the tone for the day. Overall the service and amenities made it a very smooth stay for business travel. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others traveling for work.
Rooms are on the small side but for a single traveler or a couple there is plenty of room. Think of it as a more modern slimmed down Hapton Inn. Great location walking distance to many good restaurants and the downtown ballpark. Free parking and a good free breakfast with lots of options. It's a good spot.
My visit was great. The staff was friendly. My room was clean & modern. And the location is excellent. It'll be nice if they added microwaves to the rooms in the future, there's space for them above the fridges. And like some other reviews have suggested maybe do away with the soap/lotion squeeze bottles or get different kinds. Some are difficult to squeeze product out of. I can see it being very difficult for the elderly or those with smaller body frames.
Room was perfect for my recent business trip. It is right next to a highway so you get a lot of road noise. Bring earplugs Breakfast was great and there are plenty of options from build your own breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, waffles , eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes and bacon Plenty of coffee, hot water, decaf coffee, water and juice Has a free ice and water dispenser near gym Gym is very good and clean. Good for a 30m treadmill exercise or weightlifting before work or after work up to you Easy to door dash to if needed In Ogden downtown so close to a bunch of restaurants and activities. Slackwater next door has excellent pizza. Sinora’s is also very good
I had an amazing stay at Tru by Hilton Ogden! The rooms were spotless, modern, and very comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing visit. The service was outstanding — the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always ready to go the extra mile to make my stay perfect. The location is fantastic, with beautiful mountain views and easy access to everything in town. The atmosphere felt welcoming and vibrant, and the common areas were clean and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ogden, whether for business or vacation.
we stay there often. staff is usually really good. but last day on a Saturday morning most of the breakfast food was gone by 9:30 am . people were asking for food and were told what there was it . while all 3 employees stayed in the kitchen talking . advertised til 10 am . maybe change while supplies last ?
We did not have a good experience here. The room was clean & that was about the only good thing. We tried to get breakfast in the morning, Braydon (I believe that was his name) said we could not because it didn’t open until 7, I pointed out 4 other people that had got their breakfast & he told me that he didn’t see them in time. This was at about 6:40 my daughter had to be at her dance competition at 7 so we could not wait. The food was ALL out & ready. He wouldn’t even let us grab a bagel to go. He was EXTREMELY rude. He seemed like he cared more about making a point to me than customer care. I’ve stayed at other hotels and they always let us grab a bagel or something if we needed to leave early. Again food was all out and other people had already got their breakfast. I’m not sure why a hotel is doing breakfast at 7 AM on a Saturday anyways, that seems very late to start. Also, the road is extremely loud at night.
