Sundance Resort Rooms & Suites consistently receives high praise for its beautiful setting, luxurious accommodations, and exceptional service. Guests highlight the resort's charming atmosphere, stunning mountain views, and diverse activities. However, recent changes and operational adjustments have introduced some inconsistencies and inconvenience for guests, particularly those accustomed to the resort's previous service levels.
Our stay at The Inn at Sundance was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, the rooms felt warm, fresh, and thoughtfully designed — every detail reflected comfort and understated luxury. You can feel the craftsmanship and care everywhere. We had incredible meals at Foundry Grill, and the complimentary continental breakfast was the perfect way to start slow mountain mornings. And the highlight? Relaxing at The Springs at Sundance — morning and night. Pure peace. Whether you're skiing or simply escaping to the mountains, this is a place you don’t want to miss. We’ll absolutely be back.
My wife and I recently stayed two nights at the new Sundance Inn, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Every member of the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. After checking in, we were given a quick tour of the facility. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with the added touch of a mountain stream right next to our patio. We had dinner at both the Tree Room and Foundry Grill, and both were excellent. If you’ve never had the Tree Room Pepper Steak, try it, it’s one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! One of our favorite spots was the “Living Room” at the Inn. The views were truly jaw-dropping, and the complimentary offerings were a great touch, especially the creamy hot chocolate with marshmallows browned right at our table. We also loved the nostalgic photos and memorabilia of Robert Redford and early Sundance throughout the Inn. Waking up next to the beautiful mountains and ski hill was something special. This was our first stay at the Inn, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Sundance is a special place. Highly recommend!
Incredible place, staff and activities. We really enjoyed our stay at the new lodge. The rooms are well appointed, the design and art is a great touch and the “living room” is a fun and easily accessible getaway. We also created some really fun necklaces and bracelets during the silver class. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again!
Wow. Just wow. Our experience at the Inn was spectacular from arrival to departure and everything in between. We traveled with our toddler & arrived to the bed set up for him in the most charming room. It was incredibly convenient to be literally slope-side with a ski valet and a boot room (our 2 yr old even received much welcome help getting his boots on). We loved exploring all the resort has to offer and enjoyed every delicious bite. One of our favorite experiences was breakfast with the other guests in the living room. Can’t wait to go back!! 10/10
We have a long and meaningful history with Sundance Mountain Resort — we were married here years ago and have returned multiple times because of the hospitality, service, cleanliness, food, and overall experience. This was our first visit with our toddler, and sadly, it will be our last. We booked our stay in fall 2025 under the assumption that the resort experience was consistent with previous visits and what was still being advertised online. Significant operational changes went into effect on 1/1, and we arrived just 11 days later with no prior communication or warning. Given the scale of these changes, advance notice would have allowed us to reconsider or cancel within the booking window. With the opening of the new Inn, it is very clear that the resort now prioritizes Inn guests. As guests staying in a mountain home, we experienced layers of inconvenience throughout our stay. Room service to cottages and mountain homes has been discontinued. We were told food could be ordered to-go, only to later be told we had to dine in the restaurant. Information varied depending on who we spoke to, and staff often gave conflicting guidance. Parking near restaurants and amenities is now restricted to Inn guests, requiring us to park in limited public areas and walk — or rely on shuttles that are not practical when traveling with a toddler who requires a car seat. At a premium luxury price point, this was frustrating and exhausting. Dining overall became unnecessarily difficult for a family with a young child. Without pickup or delivery options, flexibility was extremely limited. On the night of our anniversary, we had reservations at the Tree Room and simply needed a basic meal for our toddler to eat while grandparents babysat. What followed was a confusing runaround between concierge and restaurant staff, with changing information and no clear solution. We ultimately canceled our anniversary reservation and drove approximately 30 minutes down the canyon to eat — despite the fact that Sundance has excellent food. After days of inconvenience, we chose not to spend any more money on property. Other changes compounded the experience: ski storage restricted to Inn guests, removal of lockers with instructions to store gear in-room, inaccurate website information regarding restaurant hours and offerings, and a general sense of confusion across departments. We overheard other guests expressing frustration about “all these changes,” and even staff members openly sharing their own dissatisfaction. Individual staff members were kind, but they appeared unhappy and caught in the middle of decisions made far above them. Everything at Sundance remains beautiful and clean, and we did enjoy the newly added springs. However, the overall experience no longer feels like a full-service resort. It felt more like an overpriced Airbnb — stunning surroundings without the service, convenience, or guest-centered hospitality that once made this place special. At checkout, no one asked how our stay was or invited feedback, which felt like a fitting end to a deeply disappointing visit. Sundance will always hold a special place in our history, which makes it even sadder to say this: at its current price point, the experience is no longer worth it if you are not staying at the new Inn — especially for families with young children. Update: Management reached out after email sent with similar concerns as this review, acknowledged the communication failures, and offered a credit. I appreciate the accountability, though the experience itself remains as described.
This place is Wonderful. My family and I had the honor and the blessing of spending our winter break here at Sundance Resort. As soon as my family stepped into the resort, we were met by warm and kind people. Beginning at the front desk, there was complimentary teas and coffee that is offered. They will give you a pamphlet containing a map and all kinds of activities that you can explore at the resort. I appreciated the high quality paper material that this pamphlet was made of. Activities that we highly recommend you do not miss: the hot springs, morning yoga, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, and Sunday Brunch (especially if you are able to apply any resort credit to this). We appreciated the privileges and accesses that were offered for lodging guests. My family and I had booked this place with the points we received through a credit card. We were able to receive an upgrade for our stay due to this - so if you also have a travel package that can allow for this, please be sure to ask! Whatever help we needed whether it be in getting another bathroom robe or a ride to the ski school, the people here sincerely helped us without ever making us feel like a burden. I really want to acknowledge and thank all those who have contributed to making the magic happen here for our family to have a good time. The character of the people here is shown when they shovel the bunny hills for the kids and families. A wonderful place, we hope to be back again. Thank you all for our stay!
This place is really special! We’ve been bringing our kids here for years and always have a great time. I want to really highlight one of your team members, though. Rick, the gentleman in the parking lot with the long hair, is friendly, welcoming, and knows the property inside and out. He even remembers us by name and makes the start of every visit feel warm and inviting. It’s a small touch that makes a big difference and sets the tone for a fun day or weekend at the resort. We always look forward to seeing him there!
I was at the resort for five nights, and I really enjoyed my stay. Room was a rustic cabin with two fireplaces. It was clean and comfortable. Other facilities include a sauna, heated pools and self service laundry. The service was welcoming, friendly and attentive. Of course there are the beautiful views and the lovely trail to the waterfalls. Would love to come back someday.
Recently did the scenic lift at Sundance Resort and it didn't disappoint! We went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too busy. The weather was perfect; not too hot and not too cold. The views at the top are spectacular! We did grab a bite to eat at the top and the food (Mexican themed) was good and the prices weren't too bad. All the employees were super friendly and welcoming. Didn't spend much time at the rest of the resort, but would return again if in the area. Highly recommend the scenic lift.
Sundance is hands down the most beautiful ski resort I have ever visited. We live 15 minutes away so we come here often. To be honest both of us would love to work here. The employees are great, the ski patrol is so friendly, the ski food is actually good compared to other resorts, the lifts are well kept, it's not super busy, it's harder to get lost...I mean I can keep going. And I will! The events are fabulous, the owl bar is cute, bearclaw cabin is LITERALLY my sanctuary I told my therapist this is where I envision when I need to meditate. We went to mountain top yoga instructor Brent was so endearing and a wonderful teacher, views were amazing! The tree room is just ugh... CHEFS KISS! The foundry is delicious too, even the little sandwich and coffee bar. The buildings are cute and homey, the stream that runs through is so calming and gorgeous. You can't get a better view of timponogos, it's like you're being hugged by the mountain range. I mean the only things we need to do are to stay here for a night (I would love to leave a separate review for that), zip lining, and mountain biking. They also have cute artistic classes and fly fishing. If my husband wasn't going to med school and we could afford it I think we would just live here 24/7. 20/10 recommend!!!
