Grand Hyatt Deer Valley offers a luxurious ski resort experience with spacious rooms, multiple restaurants, and a beautiful mountain setting. Recent reviews highlight both exceptional service and operational inconsistencies, particularly regarding construction delays, shuttle scheduling, and communication issues. Despite some challenges, many guests praise the resort's amenities and overall atmosphere.
Grand Hyatt Deer Valley is amazing! I honestly had no idea this was a full ski resort until staying here, and I was seriously impressed. The property is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and upscale, and there are multiple restaurants and shops right on site. The mountain setting and overall atmosphere make it feel like a destination of its own. One thing I really appreciated is that they offer a military/veteran discount, which is a great touch. Whether you’re coming to ski, enjoy the mountains, or just looking for a relaxing getaway, Grand Hyatt Deer Valley is absolutely worth checking out. We’ll definitely be back!
Unfortunately, we only stayed here for one night, as we were flying back home the following day. We really wish we could have stayed longer! Upon arrival, it turned out that our reservation through Booking.com had not come through properly. However, the staff went above and beyond to resolve the issue as quickly and smoothly as possible. A special thank you to the receptionist, concierge, and managing director for their excellent service and genuine hospitality. The hotel itself is spacious, modern, and has fantastic facilities, including a beautiful swimming pool and a very well-equipped gym. Our room was wonderful as well. And finally, a proper walk-in shower instead of having to stand in a bathtub! At 1.90 m tall, I especially appreciated being able to comfortably stand under the shower. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Rather than a standard buffet, the dishes were freshly prepared in the kitchen, which made the experience feel much more special. After three weeks of travelling around Canada and the US, we honestly couldn’t have wished for a better place to end our trip. A wonderful hotel with excellent facilities, great food, and above all, outstanding service. We would definitely stay here again!
TLDR: I work as a wedding designer for Planned by Peter and we recommend the GHDV to all our couples as their wedding venue because it is a 10/10 all the way around. I am the lead designer with Planned by Peter Weddings and Events. Our team recently had the pleasure of planning and designing a wedding at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley and we don’t have enough good things to say about the experience and amenities. The resort is new and spacious, the ceremony views over the water are stellar, their in-house catering was delicious (and yes they were responsible for the tiramisu tower in the photos!), and the staff is fantastic. Each staff member I interacted with was professional and helpful, but I specially need to call out Moraya, Jairo, and John. Moraya was the contact for the our couple and us and was accommodating, kind, and overall brilliant. John and Jairo were on site on the wedding day and oversaw catering and event prep with us and provided a level of attentiveness we have never had the joy of having before. Having this allowed the wedding day to be prepped smoothly, allowed for changes due to the weather, and helped provide an unforgettable guest experience. We have worked in many other park city resorts and venues nearby, including the St, Regis, Deer Valley resort, and many others, and would have to say that our clients have had the best experience at the Grand Hyatt. If you are even considering hosting your wedding in Park City, we encourage you to book here! If my words aren’t enough, please use the wedding photos below as extra convincing!
We just wrapped up a 6-night stay at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley and while our first couple of days had some hiccups, the way the team responded turned this into a trip we'll remember for all the right reasons. To be transparent: we ran into some early frustrations around check-in communication, breakfast credit confusion, and restaurant hours not matching the posted information. But once we raised these concerns, General Manager Nate Hardesty and his team — especially Shelbie — went above and beyond. That kind of accountability and genuine care is rare, and it said a lot about the culture this property is building. From there, the stay was outstanding. The pool was a highlight for our whole family, and the location made it effortless to shuttle into downtown Park City for dinners and exploring. The surrounding activities kept us busy every day. Food quality across the property was consistently excellen; every meal felt elevated. The real star, though, was the playroom at Camp Hyatt. Our girls had an amazing time and it gave us some moments to relax as parents, too. We came in as Globalist members with high expectations, and while the start was bumpy, the way the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley leadership listened, responded, and followed through made all the difference. We're already looking forward to coming back and recommending it to friends and family.
Currently in the middle of a stay at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, and could not be more impressed by the hotel and staff. Rooms: Comfy, spacious, and has a great view of the valley below. Well appointed, soft towels, even a few fresh sprigs of eucalyptus hanging in the shower. Restaurant: Have eaten at their signature restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. The ribeye, mashed potatoes, and Parker House rolls were great. The breakfast buffet was worth eating each day I’ve been here. Staff: Everyone here has been incredibly friendly and helpful. Front desk accommodated my request for a valley view, the valets were prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable about the local area, and the night manager offered to open up the sundries shop late at night just for me to grab a few items. Location: Seems to be a great area, close to Park City but far enough away to feel more slow/calm. 5/5, will stay here again!
Very family friendly hotel. We went on the Mother’s Day weekend. The restaurant in the hotel was very thoughtful and sweet, they give mother nice dessert as a mother’s gift. There were many yard games in the middle of the hotel grass area. Also we love their swimming pool. There were multiple jacuzzi pools, so it is not over crowded. The staff was very helpful, they offered to help us with our luggage when our room is not yet ready, and give us key to go ahead start our stay with swimming pool:) their room service was amazingly wonderful. It was tasty and it was quick. Love the quality and the service they provided. Also!!!!! They have a game room for older kids, there are PS5, Xbox. Many fighting game machine, air hockey and ping pong table. Overall, this is great hotel for family for sure.
Our stay at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley was absolutely incredible! This is definitely one of the top hotels in the Park City and Salt Lake area. From check-in to every small request — even asking for extra pillows — the staff was beyond accommodating and attentive. The military lounge was a wonderful touch, offering snacks and drinks in a comfortable setting. The heated pool was amazing, especially with the breathtaking terrace views overlooking Jordanelle Reservoir. The four outdoor fireplaces made it so cozy and relaxing while enjoying the scenery. The service throughout our stay was exceptional, and having valet service made everything even more convenient. We also loved that the hotel shuttle was included with our stay — it made our trip to Main Street in Park City so easy and enjoyable. What stood out most was the attention to detail and how genuinely caring the staff was about making sure every need was met. Our entire stay felt welcoming, relaxing, and memorable. We will absolutely be back, especially for a future family reunion!
I stayed here for the first time for 3 days and 2 nights, and this was my first visit to Park City. The service was excellent. The location is about 20 minutes from downtown Park City, with a shuttle service available for transportation, including pick-up. Check-in was smooth, even though I arrived early, because the hotel was not very full, so my room was ready sooner than expected. I received a corner suite with a view that wasn't great due to ongoing construction in front of the hotel. The room was spacious, and the hotel has a gym, heated pool, and jacuzzi. The reception staff was very friendly and always offered water. The hotel was clean, with a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The amenities were good, but the Wi-Fi occasionally didn't work. Breakfast offered a good variety. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.
Dear Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Management Team, I am writing regarding our stay from February 24–28, during which my wife and I chose your property to celebrate our upcoming five-year wedding anniversary. As long-time Hyatt Globalists, we selected your hotel expecting a premium and thoughtful experience. Unfortunately, our stay was consistently disappointing and far below brand standards. There was no acknowledgment whatsoever of our anniversary beyond a standard welcome amenity. For a milestone celebration at a luxury property, this lack of recognition was disheartening. Some others did receive special treatment. Upon entering our room, we found clear cleanliness issues (visible toilet seat stains, unwashed coffee cups, dusty surfaces), which immediately undermined our confidence in the room’s sanitation. Subsequent service interactions — including a simple pillow request — were poorly coordinated and lacked follow-up. We were informed that the Globalist Lounge was unavailable for the first two days of our stay. During this time, staff provided inconsistent information about lounge breakfast hours. When we were finally able to access the lounge, the space and service quality were shockingly substandard — understaffed, unresponsive, and entirely inconsistent with what Globalists should expect at a Grand Hyatt property. As a wheelchair user, and with my wife injured during this trip, we specifically inquired about accessible shuttle options to minimize driving. Despite repeated assurances from front desk staff that they would follow up, we never received any information before checkout. The failure to follow through on accessibility-related requests is particularly concerning. Most troubling was our checkout experience. While attempting to raise these concerns, we were instead presented with two charges that were not ours and were asked to pay them. We were forced to produce receipts on the spot to prove the errors. This was both inappropriate and unacceptable. We paid premium rates expecting a refined, well-managed experience. Instead, we encountered repeated service failures, lack of accountability, and operational disorganization. This stay significantly detracted from what was meant to be an important anniversary celebration. I trust that management will review this matter seriously and provide a meaningful response, including clarification on how these issues will be addressed. We look forward to your prompt reply.
Amazing experience. Close to Jordanelle Reservoir and Deer Valley ski resort. Extremely clean and very modern. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Amenities are excellent....Spa, Fitness room, outdoor pool with 3 hot tubs, 2 shops, 1 sit down and 1 quick grab restaurants. Shuttle services to the ski resort and Park City. Outdoor fire pits with plenty of seating. The food is excellent! Make sure you book the Hot Cocoa experience...soooo yummy! The only ding against them is the parking situation is currently valet only and is kinda frustrating with all of the current construction, but I'm sure they'll fix that as time goes on.
