This property features a prime location near the University of Utah, praised specifically for its proximity to the hospital and football stadium. However, it suffers from severe operational issues including unresponsive maintenance, unprofessional front desk service, and inconsistent amenities like outdated bedding and a hot breakfast policy.

This was very disappointing . Was promised free breakfast and it was not given. Marriott Bonvoy sucks. The people at the hotel did not help. Cancel your Bonvoy points and credit card and book on Expedia at least you get free breakfast for the price. Also they don’t have smart TV’s where you can add your own password for streaming services and terrible TV Options . Book a better chain than Marriot

I’m fairly certain this hotel room was powered directly by the fiery core of the earth. The second I walked in, it felt like I had accidentally checked into a luxury lava spa. I thought, “No problem, I’ll just crank the AC.” Oh, how naive I was. I set the thermostat to 60 degrees. Sixty. As in “I’d like to see my breath.” As in “Please create a light arctic tundra breeze.” The air conditioner responded by… doing absolutely nothing. Not a gentle hum. Not a whisper of cool air. If anything, it seemed personally offended and decided to make it warmer out of spite. All night long, I lay there marinating in my own regret like a rotisserie chicken at a gas station. The sheets stuck to me. The pillows radiated heat like they had been preheated. I considered building a raft out of complimentary towels and floating to safety. I checked the vents. I double-checked the thermostat. I even stood directly under the air vent hoping for a miracle gust of cold air. Nothing. It felt like I was trapped in a sauna designed by someone who thinks “comfortable” means “surface of the sun.” I didn’t sleep, I slow-roasted. If you enjoy sweating through all five stages of grief while questioning your life choices, this is the room for you. If you prefer oxygen that isn’t preheated to volcanic temperatures, you may want to bring your own industrial fan… or a snow machine. One star for the strong commitment to the theme of “eternal damnation.”

In town for a family medical procedure. Staff seemed decent, Starbucks was sub par... Probably not affiliated but my opinion on Starbucks is not great anyways. Bed was probably the worst mattress I've slept on. Felt the springs in my back. Was filthy, Dirty and kinda gross not impressed for the rate. Drywall and garbage on carpet. Sucker and trash under bed, Not well kept at all. I've seen super 8's in better condition. Restaurant was mediocre, burnt the flatbread pizza. Also how the hell do they charge for parking on top of room rate. I'm not one to complain normally just chock it up to my fault and choice. Would not recommend or ever return.

1 they changed our account 2x the final bill 2 this was a medical stay parking was free but the make you sign up and the build me also 3) the restaurant we went one night and my wife got sick when we got our food asked for a bill and boxs to take to the room. This took over 20 minutes. Food was cold by we got there. No apologies or offer to re heat. Will not use this place in the future.

The hotel is really nice. The views are great. The service for the hotel are great. The restaurant is ridiculously overpriced. The service was terrible. In the servers defense, it’s his second day, but where was his trainer? Couldn’t even get silverware, I got it from another table. Mind you it was on the table they took them. Food was expensive and BLAND! I have to stay a few more nights but I definitely won’t be eating downstairs anymore.

This place was excellent. We initially stayed because my wife was having surgery at the University of Utah, and I’m very glad we chose it. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and very welcoming. When we returned from the surgery, they had a wheelchair available for us, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. The beds were outstanding. I have chronic low back pain, so mattress quality is very important to me, and I was able to get a full night’s rest without waking up in pain. They also offered complimentary hot chocolate with marshmallows and had an area for children to write letters to Santa, which was a nice added touch. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Marrott University Park hotel for 5 days and returned a week later for 2 days. Each time check in was easy... reception staff are friendly and courteous.. The rooms are well equipped and clean. Each morning to be welcomed at breakfast with a smile and greeting by Tiffany and Elias started the morning off great. Breakfast was extremely good and well prepared.

We very much enjoyed our stay here at this Marriott in October 2025. The room was very spacious and Will appointed. Really enjoyed our suite. We also dined in the restaurant and that was good. The parking is somewhat expensive but it’s a nice hotel. The service by the staff was very good. Would highly recommend. Oh, and they have a wonderful Chihuly chandelier in the ballroom lobby area.

Great location but problematic facilities. Our room had, let's say, a plumbing problem. We left word at the front desk before going out. Nothing was done, nor was anything done during our subsequent outings. Just like at home, we used other facilities (lobby) so as not to aggravate the problem. It was never fixed. Two days later, management stated, in an email, a claim that the engineer had repeatedly fixed the problem while we were out, but then we kept recreating the problem while in room. (We knew from conditions that the thing had never been touched while we were out.) Prepare to pay for parking by phone app for a huge lot two-thirds empty.

I highly recommend this hotel location. Yes, the hotel itself is a little dated BUT the service is unmatched. From the front desk staff to the restaurant staff to the housekeeping staff. Everyone at this location is happy to help however they can. I want to give HUGE praise to Hilda at the hotel bar. She is AMAZING! Friendly, professional and fabulous! If you stay here, make sure to go see Hilda! The location is great too! Not far from downtown, about a 15 min Uber ride. Also, very close to the U’s campus. Can’t beat it!
