The Best Western Plus Cotton Tree Inn receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its location, friendly staff, and comfortable beds. However, numerous recent reviews highlight significant cleanliness issues, outdated room conditions, and inconsistent service. The breakfast is frequently criticized for poor quality and limited offerings.
I expected more from a Best Western Plus. First, I give the staff five stars. ?????????? From the front desk to the breakfast area, they were all kind, friendly, and welcoming. My gripe was the room condition. The shower had a peeling, crumbling ceiling with spots of mildew on it. I have never encountered anything like that from the several Best Western Plus hotels I have stayed at. The room A/C unit was full of dust and cycled on and off frequently. I uv light all my hotel rooms, but I am reasonable about expectations. I understand walls may have kids handprints and stuff, but there were a lot of grimy touch points, especially the refrigerator, the coffee pot, and areas around light switches and handles. The coffee pot also had a lot of lint in it, but most of the pods were decaf so I wasn't tempted. If this were a Super 8 or something, yeah, you may have a peeling ceiling or dusty A/C units. It just isn't what I have come to expect from this chain of hotels "plus" offering. I did like the building. The bed was comfortable. The wifi worked well for my streaming stick. The location has a lot of food options. There were minimal towels stocked in the room and little bottles of bath products for one person. There was plenty of parking and the area was quiet for an urban place.
I needed a hotel room for the night and stopped here at almost 2 AM just hoping I could get a room. The attendant at the front desk was very polite and helped me get a bed for the night. I paid the standard room fee plus the refundable deposit. The room was very nice abd clean. I woke up in the morning. And I ended up forgetting my phone charger in my room. Didn't realize it until I got back to my house. I called the front desk explained the situation and they told me there was no record of me staying there. I gave them my name and everything. They told me they would give me a call if my phone charger turned up, haven't received anything from them since. For such an upscale hotel I expected a lot better service from the morning attendant. I am very upset and doubt I will even see my refundable deposit.
Good location near restaurants and I-15. Room was clean and in good condition. Bed and pillows were fine. Air conditioner cycled a fair amount and was moderately loud. Mini fridge compressor came on once in a while, also moderately loud. Large flat screen TV. Breakfast was typical 3 hot items plus waffle maker.
This hotel was very nice! I slept so well and my kids really enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was great and service was top notch. Best part is it was very, very clean!
Really clean and courteous. Normally I have 3-4 girls with me at a time cause my daughter does cheer, so of course im constantly out of towels and they were more than happy to keep us full at no charge. Pool was clean! Did say balcony but more of extra deep window lol. Will stay again.
One of the biggest positives about this hotel is the location. Whether it is to the mall where they have the Titanic Exhibition, IKEA or Loveland Aquirium. They are all super close. You can also get on the freeway quickly and there are lots of restaurants around. It is also quiet. Their prices have been really good the last 2 weekends I have visited. I was disappointed when I got a balcony room that was overlooking the hotel next to us. I had wanted to enjoy coffee while looking at the mountains. If you get a balcony room request that your room faces East. The front staff was great. They even had spare paper plates and silverware when I asked. The breakfast is not good at all. Eggs are tasteless and the extra things are super limited. I had actually considered staying somewhere else near this hotel that had better breakfasts. That is it's biggest downfall. All in all, it is a great place to stay.
Arrived at the Cotton Tree at midnight with my 2 preteen children to check into my room that I had reserved and paid online only to be treated like a trespasser. The night clerk was rude and short with us. I was very disappointed but tired so we just went to our room and try to forget about it. However, we opened the door to our room, we found the floor was dirty, a used towel hanging in the bathroom and the mirrors had not been cleaned. I probably should have left and got a refund, but due to the late hour and rude front desk situation, we stayed. Breakfast the next morning was ok. I know it's just a continental breakfast but the breads were stale and the pancake machine ran out do batter which no one would attend to. Overall, not a great experience and I won't be back. I guess my advice would be to check in very early so you don't upset the night employee and bring cleaning supplies.
Rooms were nice, pool was fun, staff were friendly, and the location was great. The coffee in the room wasn’t great but the coffee and breakfast downstairs was good. I would stay there again.
Made a reservation at this motel about 10 days ago, and just got an email from the general manager ( Eric D Gumbrecht), saying that he had cancelled our reservation and that we were no longer welcome there. The last time we had stayed there there was about a month and a half ago. Don't remember if it was 2 or 3 days. After calling this guy to ask what the deal was, he told me that we were drunk and giving the staff a hard time. We had almost no interactions with the staff. We were in Bountiful to be by my dying mother's bed side until she passed. I don't know what this guy has been smoking, but nothing happened with the staff and us. Not sure if he realized that we were a gay couple and he is homophobic or what. I am a service connected disabled veteran and feel like I have earned the right to at least enough respect for him to tell the truth about why we are no longer welcome there. He had 10 days to cancel our reservation, but waited until the day before to cancel, leaving us scrambling to find another motel, and paying last minute prices. I will never stay there again. I have given them my business for several years due to the fact that it is close to the nursing home where my mom was and my sister still is. We are happy to find other accommodations from now on. I have stayed with best Western for several years and have platinum member status. It's funny that none of the other motels has had anything bad to say about us. This one didn't either until this evening. The day before our trip. Whatever this guy's real issues with us are, I don't expect to get a truthful answer out of him. He also said in his email that he tried to call, which is a total lie. My phone has been on all day with no calls from them. Missed or otherwise. I would bet that we aren't the only couple that he has had a problem with.
Needed a place to stay for a few nights, as my motorcycle broke down passing thru town. Hotel was super nice, for the price I paid. Rooms were nice, pool was awesome, and the outdoor patio area. Breakfast was delicious. Located close to a lot of restaurants within a short drive or walk, in a nice part of town. Really have no complaints.
