Recent reviews of the Hilton Salt Lake City Center paint a mixed picture, with some guests praising the convenient downtown location and helpful staff, while others express concerns about dated rooms, poor housekeeping, and inconsistent service. Notably, several reviewers highlight issues with cleanliness and a lack of amenities, particularly regarding bathroom supplies and room temperature control. Despite some positives, the overall experience appears to be falling short of Hilton’s usual standards.

I was very disappointed with my stay at the Hilton Salt Lake City. The rooms are extremely dated and in need of renovation. The carpet was very dirty, and there was a noticeable buildup of dust on the walls, which was quite disgusting and made the room feel poorly maintained. Another major issue was housekeeping. Daily cleaning service is not provided automatically—you have to specifically request it. This is not what I expect from a Hilton-branded hotel. In addition, the bathroom was not properly stocked and lacked basic supplies that should be standard for guests. Hilton should conduct more thorough inspections before allowing a property to operate under its brand name. The overall condition and level of service did not meet the standards I associate with Hilton hotels. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay at this property again.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hilton Salt Lake City, and while the hotel itself was fine, our checkout experience left us extremely disappointed. On the morning of our departure, around 8–9 AM, we went to the front desk and requested a late checkout. The staff member assisting us, Nora, informed us that we could stay until 4 PM. She initially mentioned there might be an hourly charge, but after checking our Diamond Member status, she told us there would be no charge and confirmed the 4 PM checkout. A couple of hours later, before leaving the hotel to explore the city, I returned to the front desk simply to reconfirm that our late checkout was approved. This is when I was assisted by Jordan. Instead of politely explaining the situation, he immediately told me, “No, you can’t,” in a dismissive and unfriendly manner. I explained that his colleague had already approved the 4 PM checkout, but he continued speaking to me in a way that felt rude and unprofessional. I then said I would speak directly with the staff member who had assisted us earlier. While I was waiting for Nora to finish helping another guest, I witnessed Jordan whispering something in her ear directly in front of me. I found this very disrespectful and inappropriate. When Nora spoke with me, she apologized sincerely and admitted she had made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, and I appreciated her professionalism and willingness to apologize. However, the way Jordan handled the situation was completely unacceptable. The issue was not the late checkout being denied—it was his attitude, lack of courtesy, and the way he treated a guest. As a Hilton Diamond Member, I have stayed at many Hilton properties around the world and have never encountered this level of poor customer service from a front desk employee. The situation became even more inconvenient because I had to interrupt my husband while he was in a work meeting and ask him to come back so we could check out earlier than expected. Nora handled the mistake professionally. Jordan did not. I hope management addresses this because Hilton’s reputation has always been built on hospitality, professionalism, and respect for guests.

The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are all courteous. The on site starbucks is excellent and the breakfast restaurant is also pretty good. It's a little pricey, but the quality is mostly worth the price. The location is very central to anything downtown and not a far drive for places like the aquarium. I would definitely stay here again!

My organization held our Annual Conference at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center and if I could give 10 stars I would. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the banquet and AV staff took amazing care of us all week. The food was incredible and we got tons of compliments. If you are considering hosting an event here, DO IT! Everyone on staff was wonderful. Edgar M, our banquet Manager made sure we had everything we needed, and Yotaar took great care of our guests. Rayna, the event manager that I worked with for months leading up to the event was an absolute godsend and fabulous throughout the entire process.

Nice hotel in downtown SLC. Amenities are standard for Hilton and up to date. Wish dining was open a little bit later. Pool and jacuzzi were nice. Rooms could use some updating...furniture in our room was beginning to show some age.

I had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center. The hotel is perfectly located in downtown Salt Lake City, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The property itself is clean, modern, and very well maintained, with comfortable rooms that made it easy to relax after a long day. What truly made this stay stand out was the exceptional service — especially from Syncere at the front desk. From the moment I arrived, Syncere was welcoming, professional, and genuinely attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure everything about my stay was smooth, answering questions, offering helpful recommendations, and making me feel like a valued guest rather than just another check-in. That level of hospitality makes a lasting impression. Overall, this hotel delivers exactly what you want: a great location, comfortable accommodations, and outstanding customer service. Thanks to team members like Syncere, I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Salt Lake City.

We stayed here while in town for a volleyball tournament. The location was great. Walking distance to the Convention Center, restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself was very clean, they have a self service convenience store. The only thing is that some of the items showed up as "can not find" when we scanned them so we could not pay for them. They have a Coffee Bar with a few grab and go items for breakfast with very fast service and also a sit down breakfast (we did not utilize). The gym area is small but enough equipment to get the job done. The girls enjoyed the indoor hot tub/Pool area. The only issue I really had was that my electronic key in my app took a very long time to process. So I ended up just using my physical key instead.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. The front desk was friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was most memorable. The rooms were spacious and clean, with all the amenities you'd expect from a Hilton. Everyone we ran into had a smile and was more than willing to assist in any way possible. The restaurants were great offering everything from a breakfast buffet to an elegant steakhouse experience. The Wagyu tomahawk ribeye steak at Spencer's is a must have. The location is probably the best part as you are pretty much walking distance to everything in the city. I would definitely return here the next time I'm back in SLC!!

The location of this hotel is excellent with lots of eateries close by that you can walk to and enjoy. The largest reason for the average rating was due to waking up on my first night in a pool of sweat. I got in late and set the thermostat to the lowest setting allowed which is 65°, also it was 30° outside that night. You can imagine my confusion waking up in a pool of sweat. After checking everything I know to check in the middle of the night, I could not understand why it was so hot. The air wasn’t cold coming out of the vent but it was not warm, and it shouldn’t have been 78° in my room in my opinion. After 30 minutes or so I decided to check the filter next to where the air was coming out and you can see the picture below, it has not been changed in 15 months. This of course is the reason the unit is not working but what surprises me most is the many people that have stayed in this room in the past 15 months and nobody said anything about the room temperature. I assume they didn’t since the filter was 15 months old and no airflow could get through it. When I removed the air filter, the room immediately started to cool down and the temperature matched the setting of the thermostat the next morning. I did let the front desk know when I checked out. The front desk person was apologetic and said he would pass it on the engineering. Crazy there are not systems in place to have preventive maintenance done, since this will cause the units lots of issues that in turn will cost the hotel and then the customers more money. Everyone I came in contact with at the hotel was nice and I will give it another try and will edit the review if it is an above average stay.

The room was outrageously expensive and cost wasn't justified by the room. You can tell it's an oldish room. We bought a suit there was only a window on one side so we felt like we were in a dungeon. There's only one bathroom and it took forever for all of us to use it. there wasn't even a sink outside in the room or tissues. some of the lamps didn't even work. there were no ceiling lights so it was dim with no window on one side of the suite. It was the day after Christmas when they started drilling in the mornings at 9:00 AM in the parking structure which we could hear pretty good all the way up on the 11th floor. The food and their restaurant is $30 a person for breakfast and $30 to $90 per person for dinner. They ran out of food on Christmas Day and couldn't feed their people. I wish they had had a door separating the two rooms of the suite but no and the bathroom didn't look any bigger than any other hotel room. We've had nicer rooms at the Hyatt. The only thing good about it was the location which was downtown Salt Lake. We had to pay $35 a day for parking but of course anywhere we went in Salt Lake we had to pay additional fees. My family did not like that they did not have free breakfast and that it didn't seem worth the cost and asked me to buy a hotel outside the city next time. This is the second Hilton We have tried in the Salt Lake City and have had pretty much the same experience. The other one was even worse. Lobby is somewhat pretty but I'm finding out if the rooms are old it's not worth it.
