I was looking for a one-of-a-kind experience while visiting Huntsville, and the Compass Rose Lodge Observatory Excursion immediately caught my attention. I'm so glad I booked it. The drive to Huntsville is peaceful and scenic, surrounded by beautiful mountain views. The town itself has a charming small-town feel, with friendly locals, vintage shops, and a strong sense of community that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the surroundings. Although I didn't stay overnight at Compass Rose Lodge, I spent a lot of time on the property getting to know the team. Chandler and Scott were fantastic. They took the time to share the history and heritage of the lodge and made me feel completely welcome from the moment I arrived. The observatory experience was the highlight of my visit. Scott brought an incredible combination of knowledge, humor, and enthusiasm, walking us through every step of the experience in a way that was both educational and engaging. I left with a much greater appreciation for astronomy and the night sky. The grounds are beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly inviting. From the warm décor to the cozy fire pit out front and the fun tiki tents available for gatherings, there are so many unique touches that make the property special. Even taking a walk around Huntsville is an experience in itself. Whether you're staying overnight or visiting for the observatory excursion, Compass Rose Lodge offers something truly unique. I'm already looking forward to returning and booking a stay.

I had a fantastic stay at the Compass Rose. This beautiful boutique hotel is a hidden gem tucked high in the mountains of Utah. The cool mountain air, peaceful surroundings, and charming atmosphere made it the perfect escape. Everything about the hotel was thoughtfully done. The vintage, ski-inspired decor created a cozy, unique feeling that perfectly matched the mountain setting. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and welcoming throughout my stay. I would highly recommend the Compass Rose to anyone looking for a relaxing, memorable mountain getaway.

The HALO Starwalk Tour was hands-down a beautiful, inspiring, and overall magical experience. Scott was so fun, and really made the tour so interactive for those in our group with barely any astronomy knowledge and for the experts - he made sure everyone in our group had the opportunity to enjoy and share this experience together. We were left speechless at some of the sights we got to see, and left feeling like just a speck in the universe (in a good way). If you have the chance to take the starwalk tour, DO IT! It really is a one of a kind experience and every night is different, so you get your own unique experience.

Quiet area. Very clean and comfortable room. Loved our evening with the awesome guide Scott at the observatory. He was an incredible tour guide! And the neighborhood cat, Sid, was a delightful and unexpected companion.

Compass Rose Lodge was one of those places that completely exceeded my expectations. Tucked away in Huntsville, it feels like a hidden gem that somehow manages to be both peaceful and memorable at the same time. The property is beautifully maintained, the rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed, and the entire experience feels more personal than staying at a typical hotel. From the moment we arrived, it was obvious that a lot of care has gone into every detail. One of the things that really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The views of the mountains and surrounding area are incredible, especially in the evening. If you're someone who enjoys getting away from the noise and busyness of everyday life, this is the kind of place where you can actually relax. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to care that guests had a great experience. It's rare to find a place that feels both professional and personal at the same time. Whether you're visiting for a romantic getaway, a weekend adventure in Ogden Valley, or just looking for a unique place to stay, Compass Rose Lodge is absolutely worth it. I've stayed in plenty of hotels over the years, and this is one of the few places that I found myself telling friends about afterward. We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I got married across the street at the Mercantile. We stayed in separate rooms the night before and then together the night of our wedding. The staff was amazing and SO kind. They wrote us a nice congratulations letter and even changed the sheets of the Kind suite for our wedding night. Absolutely everything was perfect!!! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The decor of the entire property is next to none! Coffee from the shop downstairs was excellent! And, they have an observatory on sight. We took the star tour with Scott, who was incredible and we highly recommend. Not a single thing could have been better. Honestly worth every single penny we spent and in comparison, to other places, was not a lot. Our experience was "out of this world", we cannot express how amazing everything was. If you are thinking of staying here, DO IT! We are already planning on celebrating our first anniversary here where it all started. From the booking process to checking out...top tier experience. There are not enough stars we could give!!!

WOW. This place rules. Had my 40th birthday party there recently and everything was perfect. The GM, Ashely, was superb. She answered all our questions and made sure we had a great time. The Halo astronomy experience was amazing, even with a larger group. Both guides were funny and very informative. The rooms were beautiful, the private room was cozy and the town is cute. Truly, this was a wonderful experience and the Compass Rose Lodge helped me have a very memorable birthday. Thanks to everyone that we worked with. Stay here, have a party, visit, whatever you need to do to come check it out.

We had an outstanding weekend at the Compass Rose Lodge. From the moment we arrived, the entire property felt peaceful, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully cared for. The staff was welcoming and genuinely attentive without ever feeling overbearing. Every part of the lodge has a quiet, refined charm — from the warm common spaces to the clean, comfortable rooms that feel both modern and cozy. The setting is incredible. It’s the perfect place to relax, reset, and feel tucked away without being remote. We loved the atmosphere, the attention to detail, and the overall vibe. You can tell the owners really take pride in creating a memorable experience for their guests. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommend the Compass Rose Lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful, top-notch getaway.

We wished we were staying an additional night! Scott gave us an amazing sky tour in the observatory, and included morning coffee and croissant was amazing!

Compass lodge was amazing. Everyone was so nice, the rooms were great and Scott at the Observatory was very knowledgeable and made our tour an enjoyable experience. Thanks to everyone. We will return… Oh and I be of the best things was how quiet it was?
