The Evo Hotel consistently receives positive feedback for its unique atmosphere, incorporating elements like an indoor skatepark and climbing gym. Guests appreciate the friendly staff, convenient location, and diverse amenities, particularly the rooftop bar and coffee shop. However, some reviews highlight concerns regarding room size, noise levels, and inconsistent service.

WOW! Excellent place to stay with a family. The kids found out there was a skatepark INSIDE the hotel and that was all it took to book our stay in SLC. Great hotel, great staff, great renovation of an old building, and the kids loved the skatepark. Bonus... a huge bouldering gym in the back. Proximity to other skateparks was great (family likes to skateboard), walking distance to a few great places to eat, and a short drive to many others. It's off the beaten path for the city-dwellers, but right where the small boutiques, tasty new restaurants and interesting sites are. Now we're intrigued by the Japan location. Oh yeah, a rock-solid EVO shop right there too! Rooftop bar. Friendly coffee bar. Great people watching. Well Done EVO!

Website photos and actual rooms do not match at all. The rooms look cheaply done, right down to the plywood mounted on brackets to serve as your nightstand. I wish I’d taken better pictures, the tv didn’t work, only one of the plugs on the side of the bed worked. We were on the first floor and I’m assuming the room above us had kids because there was constant stomping around above, but luckily we were only there for the night on our road trip from Seattle to Vegas(all of our hotels we pre-booked when planning trip otherwise we wouldn’t have stayed)

We found this hotel randomly for a weekend in SLC and couldn't feel luckier that we did. The property is totally unique with lots of very cool common spaces, including the cafe and the bar that always had other guests hanging out and chatting. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly, especially loved that we could just text with the hotel the whole weekend and they responded immediately by a person. The rooms were cute, definitely recommend getting a room with a balcony.

2/5 Stars We stayed at EVO Hotel for one night, and honestly, that was enough. When we first arrived, we thought the property was really unique. The indoor skate park, bar, shops, and walkable location gave it a fun, modern vibe with plenty to do nearby. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once we settled into our room. We were excited to open the blinds and enjoy the mountain views, but our room overlooked a common area where people continually leaned over the railing and looked directly into our room. There was very little privacy. Our room was also located behind the bar, and it was extremely noisy. Between the music, yelling, banging, and trivia night, it felt more like a college party scene than a hotel. The noise continued until around midnight, making it difficult to relax or enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Cleanliness was another disappointment. We found black, curly hairs all over the bedding, the walls were dusty, and the HVAC vent was so clogged with dust that it barely looked capable of letting air through. EVO Hotel definitely has a unique concept and could be a great fit for college students or those looking for a lively nightlife atmosphere. However, if you’re hoping for a clean, quiet place to relax and enjoy the mountain scenery, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

If you are a climber than this is a five star hotel. It has every amenity a climber went to dream of. Even Climbing decor in the rooms. I’m so happy they do not have single use plastic shampoo and conditioner. Thank you, thank you thank you If you are the wife of a climber and used to traditional hotels, then it is a bit of a surprise. Be sure to bring your slippers. The hard concrete is hard on my toes. Don’t get me wrong. It’s very clean. I just wish I had my slippers. Also, if you’re planning to refrigerate or freeze something, you may request a cooler. There are no refrigerators in the rooms. With the coolers, the staff is kind enough to replace the ice when needed. Texting is easy to communicate. The rooftop bar doesn’t open until four. But I was able to walk up to it. At one in the afternoon in the summer it is so hot. I can see why it’s not open till after four when things cool off. Amazing views. Sadly, I think someone will be blocked when the buildings across the street get finished. Really nice stuff. Lots of shopping. Like I said a climbers dream. Four star for the rest of us.

My favoite place to stay in SLC. Rooms are simple but provide all that you need. I prefer the Wasatch rooms because of the outdoor balconies, other rooms may not have outdoor windows. Right below is a first rate cross fit - like gym that is better than any other hotel in UT. If you feel adventurous you can also take a turn at the Bouldering Project that is right downstairs. The bar is fun and a good spot to relax before bed and the coffee downstairs is quite good in the morning.

I can't say enough great things about my stay at the evo hotel in Salt Lake City. The room was extremely comfortable and has minimalist but thoughtful design. I took advantage of the free intro pass as well to the Bouldering Project and used their gym for a workout while I was there. (It makes all other hotel gym facilities look like a joke! There was a full gym, including assault bikes and rowing machines and a huge selection of weights—not to mention a TON of space to stretch out.) There's also a sauna (one located in the women's and one in the men's bathroom). The sauna is really nice (wood inside) and you can tell it's clean and well maintained. The Sauna is included with your stay. But beyond the actual facilities, it's the people that made the stay amazing. From shopping in the evo store to just mingling with the other guests and employees...it might sound cheesy but everyone seems legitimately happy to be there! The location is an easy on/off to the 215 and the area around the hotel has a ton of great new restaurants. I lived in SLC for 12 years and can't help but think I would have stayed longer had those great restaurants been there when I was around. Check out the Woodbine Food Hall for easy, close by grab and go or the central 9th area near by has a great new spot that's James Beard-worthy called "Bar Nohm." About the rooms: While at first I was skeptical that the room I was in didn't have any windows, it allowed for an extremely restful sleep and the way they have decorated the rooms and added lighting really made the room quite calming. In the end, the room serves it's purpose: deep rest after a full day of playing in the Wasatch! There are nice common areas for work including a huge couch section upstairs. It can be a little loud with the Bouldering Project right there, but the rooms are extremely quiet.

The stay was great! Nothing too crazy to complain about. The room was nice and clean and the complimentary liquid death water was a plus (my favorite water brand). The balcony was awesome we sat outside our first night to watch the snow fall. The shower was enormous and the bed was soft. Our room was next to the bar which I visited a few times on our stay. Now the patrons were a little noisy at night but thats just what happens when your room is next to the bar so it didn't really bother me. The TV must've required another remote because the internet log in page would pop up every 15 minutes or so but no big deal we dont watch much TV anyway. And it was hard to find a parking place between 10 am and about 7 pm so we just parked our car and Ubered everywhere. We will definitely stay here again our next trip to salt lake

Stayed here on my own after spending the weekend in Brighton. The hotel is very very cool. The stores are neat, all the activities. The con of this, you can hear EVERYTHING in those rooms. The gate slamming up from the rock walls, peoples equipment hit the metal fence every time they walked by. Rooms were weird small. You could also hear ? “noises” from others rooms not just next door, but through the door if you walked by. Recommend the bar, and checking out the store. Do no recommending sleeping there.

It is an innovative idea with a bouldering gym which also has a very nice fitness area with everything you need. However, we were shocked by how little space the rooms have - it was not obvious from the pictures - we had to store our stuff in the bathrooms; if felt like staying in a camper van. And the walls were thin, though we didn't hear any noise from the gym itself, just a yippy dog. We were lucky to have a sound machine. It is not kid friendly. We were not allowed on the rooftop with our child. No mini fridge and a shared microwave. Didn't realize how claustrophobic it would feel not to have a window; child woke up screaming that he couldn't see, as there was zero light. A little sleepy today. Sleep was just ok. The bouldering was fun and a cool concept, just maybe too minimalistic for a vegan family that needs to carry food along.
