Black Rock Mountain Resort consistently receives high praise for its luxurious accommodations, stunning mountain views, and friendly staff. While some guests appreciate the spaciousness and amenities like pools and restaurants, there are concerns regarding remote location, inconsistent service quality, and occasionally, issues with room comfort and responsiveness from certain staff members.
One of the newest resort hotels in the Park City area makes it sparkle and shine. Comfortable lounging in the lobby, a great bar with magnificent views, superbly friendly staff. Bonuses all around with a decent gym, large pool and huge pool deck, hot tub, stand alone coffee shop, restaurant...and the largest meeting room in any PC hotel. I know I'm missing some details... I guess I will need to return!
This hotel is very clean and nice. The rooms feel cozy, luxurious and they are spacious. The beds are very comfy. Out of any hotel I have ever stayed in this one is by far the best. I would definitely come back here. The staff is also very nice. Shawn who was filling in for the shuttle was also very nice and welcoming to us. I would recommend this hotel if you want to stay in park city. 10/10!!!!!
Our family has now stayed at Black Rock Mountain Resort two years in a row, and it has quickly become a tradition—we’re already planning our return next year. The location is stunning, with peaceful mountain views just minutes from Park City. The residences are spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for families, and the heated pool, hot tubs, and gathering spaces make it easy to relax together after a day of activities. What truly stands out is the service, especially Manager Alfredo. He is welcoming, visible, and clearly dedicated to creating an exceptional guest experience. His leadership shows throughout the entire resort. Highly recommend for families visiting the Park City area.
It feels like a scam, if I had to describe it in one word. Currently staying here and want to leave if I wasn’t paying an outrageous amount for a basic hole in the wall room. The pictures seem to be a bit deceiving. Paid for a Mountain View and my view is the resort parking lot. Rooms are dark are depressing even with all lights and blinds open. The beds are so uncomfortable you can feel every pressure point. The room temp won’t let you go below 69 and its hot in the room. Room service has limited number of options to order from compared to the full dine in restaurant menu. The food is basic at best, nothing special for the $30+ you pay per plate. This was supposed to be a nice restful reset weekend for me and I am leaving more exhausted and irritated then when I came. Very disappointing for the amount you pay, honestly the Hilton down the road is just the same if not better and has better beds stay there for half the price.
We own a townhome close to the resort…the staff are all very nice and super friendly / accommodating. The bar, front desk and restaurant staff are all top-notch. Given that everyone is generally responsive and friendly, I’m VERY much perplexed by the lack of responsiveness we’ve encountered trying to connect with the individual responsible for the gym. We were happy to pay extra (relative to other gyms in Park City) but it’s been impossible to connect with the appropriate people (front desk has been extremely pleasant to deal with); multiple calls, follow ups and emails. We have decided to go to another gym, and I really wouldn’t give BlackRock / Onyx any consideration - they don’t care about adding new members, why should you?
We booked our stay through the AMX website, and the package we selected was an exceptional value for the experience. We were particularly impressed by the spaciousness of the building. Did a lot of walking due to some parts of the building were not connected to the 1-2-3 floor. We believe we were accommodated in the newly renovated room. They also left us with a sweet treat. This hardly ever happened anywhere we’ve stayed at. I appreciate how they went above and beyond. Even the servers were professional and respectful. The floor we were assigned did not appear to be heavily trafficked or crowded, and the overall atmosphere was tranquil. We arrived seeking the snow, and we were fortunate to witness it before departing for our desert destination. There is a wide range of activities available for all interests. We enjoyed the scenic views, delectable cuisine, game room, and sauna facilities. The resort’s location is conveniently situated near the airport and other ski resorts. The food portions are generously sized, and there is a small Starbucks-style café located near the front lobby. This cozy, luxurious, and picturesque resort offers an ideal escape for a brief getaway. We plan to book our stay very soon.
While local, we stayed at the BRMR when we were relocating between homes. We were pleasantly surprised - we reserved a one bedroom suite that was perfect for our stay. The room was well appointed with a desk in both the bedroom and living area, a large sofa and dining table. The kitchen was well stocked - while we were not there long enough to cook. The gym is well equipped although there is a new club in the hotel that may have a much more extensive space. We ate lunch two days at the restaurant which was basic but good (think burgers, sandwiches, etc.). Only 3 stars for location for a few reasons. First, it’s at the intersection of Browns Canyon and 248 - lots of dump trucks and high-speed traffic. Second, this is a bit of a desert in terms of restaurants, grocery, gas, etc. You either need to drive 10-15 mins into Park City or Kamas for anything. Supposedly they are plans to start a commercial development nearby in Richardson Flat, which would help out a lot.
WOW!! ? We (my brother and I) absolutely loved saying here!! Not only is the property beautiful but the staff was absolutely outstanding! Huge compliments to Candice at the front desk, not only her customer service but her genuine hospitality and warmth. She really set the tone for the whole stay. So welcoming and helpful, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and friendliness. The restaurant is top tier as well as the wonderful service there. Food was of the freshest quality no shortcuts. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner you cannot go wrong. We are vegan and so grateful for the amazing options! Kathrina (Kat), Kiriko, and Milagros are three of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet! We appreciate you so much! The amenities we lovely especially the steam room and sauna!! We got a yummy surprise in our room to welcome are stay even more!! Needless to say we are absolutely thrilled and delighted with our experience at this fabulous resort. Second home vibes, welcoming you in like family and friends. Big thank you again to all of the nicest people (staff) ever!! Including the security team!! We will be back and cannot wait!! ??
Kat in the Overlook restaurant was our server at dinner, and she was perfection! Good recommendations, attentive without being obtrusive. What a lovely evening! The chicken schnitzel was delicious, as was the halibut. The acorn squash kale salad had the most delicious dressing! And the flourless chocolate cake was exquisite! What a perfect birthday celebration!
I have stayed here multiple times and love the rooms. It’s a beautiful hotel. Beds are a little hard, and rooms are not sound proof, but our two bedroom suite was great. Lots of room. I just wish the pool/ hot tub was open later. 10pm seems early for a resort town.
